Bio

Keys-based songwriter Bryant Diersing was born in the bluegrass state of Kentucky in the jug band music capital of Louisville and spent his formative years growing up near the headwaters of the Chesapeake Bay.
His formulation of musical interests started with a move to Tidewater , Va and an introduction to the piedmont blues of the south. He then wandered from coastal Virginia to the mountains and hollows of southwestern Virginia allowing him to rediscover the Appalachian roots of his grandparents.
After 10 years in the mountains playing, true love and his inability to be away from the coast too long once again made him a flatlander, a move he has yet to regret. As an historian, folklorist, educator and wilderness guide in the Florida Keys and southern florida for the last 27 years, his experiences and outlook relate to the people and environment as well as his own inner world.
His music covers a range of musical styles while conveying a certain honesty of experience. What you get with this Florida Keys-based songwriter is a bit of humor, a dose of corn ( pone or likker, take your choice), sprinkle in some other stuff and inject it with a strong sense of place.
